Not exactly a wildlife shot but a workmate recently returned from a holiday in Greece. A cpl of days later he sees this crawling across his living room floor, he reckons it was about 2 and a half inches long. He's not sure if picked up in his case or just coincidence, insects no really my bag.

I think that might be a Devil's Coach Horse beetle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_coach_horse_beetle

It is a rove beetle, though which of a huge family needs more research. The devil's coach horse is a rove beetle, but the candidate appears to lack the pincers, though it's a reasonable call.
