We're not long back from a fortunately-timed week self catering in Strathpeffer, just north of Inverness. The weather was stuck in a bit of a rain-in-the-west rut so we didn't get many big walks in, but over on the east coast it was generally dry with some sunshine at times. The highlight of the trip was, however, the wildlife. Here are a few pics - though they don't include the pine marten we saw just outside Strathpeffer, the owl at Black Rock Gorge, etc...
Red squirrels at the Linn of Tummel and Reelig Glen (we were lucky to see red squirrels almost every day):

Dolphins at Chanonry Point (we watched scores of these for a couple of hours - amazing!):
Pheasants near Rosemarkie and Carbisdale Castle respectively:
Salmon leaping the Achness / Cassley Falls (we also saw them at the Falls of Shin):
