Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Glenrothes had perforce to become Silicon Glen when the Rothes Coliery which was its founding raison d'etre, closed. I have to admit, I had forgotten what it was all about when I came home, and couldn't think it out at all. I had to go back to my browsing history to work out what I must have been checking.

Had Glenrothes but not Rothes Colliery, so thank you for being generous. Been there once to view a Company's manufacturing facility. Could have been anywhere and the coach driver getting lost was the highlight of the day.

DF could be a best friend going over.

It's not some Scottish connection to Dog Friday is it? Everyone else jump in before Charles answers this, as I can't see why it should be.

I believe that split rock is also a possible translation.

Been forced to look through the Geographical Dictionary and try to to find some plausible T's

Is T a trench or a tributary, or are they clans joined by a tartan (seems implausible).

No, sorry Sgurr.

Not quite a trench. Something else though.

This place is on M.

I have found tunnels (or reputed tunnels) with either MC or CC at one end but not linking both

Cessnock Castle

Cleeves Cove

Mauchline Castle

Craufurdland Castle

Monzievaird Castle

Maybe the other ends of these have another name

You're on the right lines there Sgurr.

T is indeed a tunnel.

This place is on the IOM and may well be one of the deepest caves in the Hebrides.
