Can you tell me the scale of the map and the units used and which of these three choices is correct:
a) 1= 99.396
b) 1= 99.639
c) 1= 99.936
further clues to come if necessary

If you haven't seen it already, take a look. It is marvellous.
Take a look, for example, at https://maps.nls.uk/view/189662065
Thanks so much Tinto for putting me onto this idea. Ah, many happy hours of browsing ahead. My wife will be furious.

An excellent resource!
A favourite of mine is the old 1inch map of Fisherfield (e.g. https://maps.nls.uk/view/91549075) - see what the highest contours are on Beinn a' Chlaidheimh, A' Mhaighdean and Ruadh Stac Mor!

Oh, and I did do the calculation to make sure the map was correct.
I will have another completely different old map topic which I hope to put on this thread in a couple of days but please add your own contributions.
