A couple from my beloved Cheviots, with even a little scramble included :)

All from the path up from Langleeford toward Hedgehope. Started snowing at around 450 metres so I didn't get anything from higher up.

I had been up the hill for about three hours and it was pretty grey and boring so no decent pictures (the hill wasn't boring - just the photos)! I got back at sunset and the sky put on a show.

From a quick wander up to Cairn Lochan, which was intended to be Ben Macdui. This was really an exercise in using old manual focus lenses out on the hill to see if I could do it (I love the lenses, but I've always found them hard to use when I'm shaking with tiredness; my camera doesn't have a viewfinder, which makes it doubly difficult), so they may be less sharp than they should be.

I am training to be hillfit. Simulating Scotland, if at all possible. Location: National Park 'Zuid-Kennemerland', a 15 min. bike ride away.
First photo: boggy dune valley. The dune top left is called The Bride of Haarlem because of her long sandy veil. It's like a local A'Mhaighdean only less desirable cos she's to be married.
Second photo: Highlander cattle, Konik ponies, shetland ponies and sheep are used to graze the landscape and prevent the characteristic dune landscape from turning wooded.

I put together some photos from a trip up Beinn a'Bheithir last month and was quite surprised at how they came out into this panorama. No processing or anything, apart from the stitching program itself.

If there had been more like this it might have become a trip report.

Been to Glenshee today. Been putting it off because of the hideous reputation of the place, but it was a lovely day and I really enjoyed the walk if I'm honest. I didn't mind the accesses up to Carn Aosda, although the top of The Cairnwell is just a real shame because it's a lovely viewpoint and quite a shapely hill. My new Cocker Spaniel's first day out in the Scottish mountains and she managed three Munros (and is still running around a field with horses in it as I type).

Anyway..

By the way, I'm trying to identify the big cone shaped mountain in the fourth one down. I didn't check but it felt like I was shooting West/South West from Gheoidh. Currently thinking Lawers with Stob Binnein/Ben More to the left of it? Thought Nevis at first (obviously) but it seems so much higher than anything else around it, Lawers seems to fit the bill marginally better.

Happy to be corrected, of course :)

17-19th April.
We did a long distance backpacking walk over Cadair Idris and the Arans to the Berwyns mountains in North Wales.
(Cut short of continuing for another 2 days over the Clwydians range due to a back injury of my mate Martin)

went for a walk the other day upto Geal-Charn Mor above Aviemore. Took I guess the usual cairngorms panny plus a second photo on a rise to the left of the summit looking towards Kingussie, problem is that I can't identify the snowy ridge in the background - any one know its name (this is'nt a quiz or anything, I just wanna know)

Cheers
