The best I got from three days of permanent cloud around 500m in the Torridon area

To think that I've added Slioch, Beinn Liath Mhor and Sgorr Ruadh and these were the best I got :(

A few from Skye (and the wreck of the Dayspring at Lower Diabaig), all classic views really but it would have been rude not to take them as I was passing :)

More of the same photos of Skye that everybody takes (and a couple from Torridon)

Was disgusted with myself that I couldn't identify any of these mountains from this side.

I since decided, by the way, that the mountains I couldn't identify originally were in fact Slioch through to the Torridons, which would make the long one in the middle somewhere near Baosbheinn although I was unaware there was anything so sizeable in that part of the world.

Yep, Slioch on the left, Baosbheinn central (the ridge is actually quite long), and Beinn Alligin on the right, with the main top, Sgurr Mor, being the more conical peak, and the big lump to its right is Tom na Gruagaich.

Some really nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

Thanks :) Had no idea Baosbheinn was so extensive, and Tom na Gruagaich is definitely a queer shape from that point of view. Certainly more shapely from Shieldaig way :)

Yes, Beinn Alligin loks a lot less compact from this angle, though the top in cloud at the far right is actually Mullach an Rathain on Liathach.

Baosbheinn is indeed a very fine and extensive hill - I re-did the round of it and Beinn an Eoin a couple of weeks ago and it was every bit as good as I remembered from the first time: one of the very best sub-3000ft walks on the mainland.

A couple of nights in Skye; no munros due to wind, but a couple of roadside favourite views in traditional Skye light

Had a bit of time off and given the recent snowfall I thought I'd have a look up the road. I had a specific objective in mind - photograph of the North Face from Carn Mor Dearg.

As soon as I got into the sunlight toward the top of Carn Beag Dearg, though, it became obvious that my photo mission was doomed to failure because I hadn't considered the low winter sun which was making a monster silhouette of the North Face. So I turned around, headed down and went for a walk up to the CIC hut in the corrie instead, and although the view from down there isn't so spectacular, at least it was visible :)

The CIC hut is always unexpectedly further away and more difficult to reach than I think

I had a wander up Quinag in mid October and didn't enjoy it very much - mainly because I set off dressed for cold and it turned out to be 20 degrees - but I did get some nice views

No match for the quality of photos above but here's one from the Lowther hills last weekend

Nice one Rockhopper. The same weekend (Saturday) I was looking at the Lowthers from Hart Fell! - It was a good day to be out on the hills.
Here's one of Derwentwater on the Sunday.
