Never give up, remember an English picture won one of the monthly contests: Hadrian's Wall. Not all winners are the "best" photographs i.e. exposure and composition but generally a person's favourite view. Perhaps someone should start a not - Scotland photo competition.
Remember if it was not for us also rans there would be no viable competition.

One of the winners was also a point and shoot looking into the sun with a date stamp on it.

Rick, Susie's are NOT 'point and shoot looking into the sun'-type of pictures  They are of the carefully thought out and well-executed kind :D the lady knows what she's doing and it shows!!

I know, I was pointing out that any photo has a chance of winning, so people shouldn't give up entering their photos just because the photoshoped ones are doing well.

When I made my original comment it was supposed to be "tongue in cheek" as I put a  at the end of it. Think I should've put lots more    as I didn't expect all the reaction :o

BTW, Rick, are you going to enter an animal for next month? You said the picture is on your flickr... There aren't that many animal pictures entered and I like them! :D

Just to say a massive thanks to all the votes my wee pic got ! Really didin't expect it as every month the quality is more than exceptional (to my very untrained eye!). mine are just my personal passion.

I onyl enter to have my own works (that hold memories) sorrounded by greatness

There are clear winners and I am in awe of everyone work this month - jeez we have a talented bunch taking foties of an astounding landscape around us! Aren't we lucky ! :D

The "big" names yet again provided us with a vista to relish!

You'll have to get up earlier  Anyway I've hardly been out much this year - should have been ample time for other folk to get a look in

BTW that's one big avalanche that jenniferc6 captured (Loch Einich from Sgor Gaoith). Don't know if its been discussed on another thread but its a pretty scary sight - and one of the reasons I kept to safe ground for only my second outing this year.

I haven't been out for ages. Im more of a late-spring to early-winter walker. Not comfortable or confident enough for the snow yet. Hoping to head out properly in May though.
