Clues - I’m not far from a previous photo that I posted. Close by are a castle above a river that’s crossed by stepping stones, and a priory that was the subject of a Turner painting.

Extra clue: a tiny part of Britain’s first AONB is visible on the horizon on the extreme left of the first photo

I climbed Fans Frynych, Fawr and Llia earlier this year so it looked familiar. All the crowds flock to Pen Y Fan leaving those paths almost deserted!

Where is this valley?

I'm on a rough path, not marked on OS maps, that climbs beside the stream towards a Hewitt summit.

There is a memorial below the summit. This is a lesser used path in an otherwise very popular area.
