A close resemblance! - but not there.

The hill is a very well-known one, but from an angle that may be unfamiliar to most walkers.

Tim

Extra clues! - the hill is quite an isolated one, although fit walkers can link it with two others, and the super-fit can link it with nine others.

It rises above a well-known tourist village, from where it is usually climbed. Some remarkable engineering on its south-west side is included, I think, among the UNESCO world heritage areas of N Wales.

Different view of the hill (and one of its neighbours, which is closer to us)

Presumably it's Elidir Fawr, which I climbed with all the other Glyders on the day of the wedding of William and Kate. Along with hundreds of others whom similarly desired to avoid the matrimonial extravaganza at all costs.

We spent that day driving to Suffolk and going round Framlingham Castle and Southwold. We had everywhere to ourselves!

It's not Elidir Fawr - the quarrying on its flanks is less extensive but is still one of the World Heritage areas. A couple of photos of the area may help.

The hill is slightly to the right of the middle of the aerial shot.

Also, the village I mentioned is not directly connected with the quarrying. It is most famous because of a legendary dog.
