This river issues from a large dam just a couple of miles upstream of this photo, and passes through a series of wonderful little gorges that most people won't know about, unless you paddle!

I think the Sad Little Society of Lesser Welsh Hill Spotters (see earlier posts) may be moribund and the only one who might get this would be Clive, who has an unhealthy attachment to waterfalls.

Otherwise, the only paddling I've ever done was in a pool so dedicated and I need a big helpful clue.

It is... though not always so benign, there's quite a reputation for nasty tree blockages.

Clue in a mo..

Yeah, afraid so. And I have very few Welsh images...and most are indeed of waterfalls.

The big dam upstream has a looooooong slipway, that has been slid down by nutters in kayaks.

Downstream is a small town beginning with Ll , and another one further down (not many of those in Wales, eh ;) )

Eventually, the river reaches a large town beginning with C, before reaching an estuary.

I have the answer now, but I'll hold off in the hope of someone else chipping in as I'm short of Welsh pics.

Naught doing? It's the Afon Tywi and there's no way I would have got there without the clues.

It is indeed. Feel free to post, or not, there's only the two of us playing and I'll be away from tomorrow till New Year (though will probably sneak online anyway...)

Reminds me a bit of the ridge to Craig-y-Llyn. But I think I'm probably wrong (don't remember seeing any pylons on the route)
