Yes, I thought it must be the Menai Straits, hence my stab at CL.

So going to the other end of the Straits, the hill on the right would be Yr Wyddfa.

And if that's right, then you're somewhere around Dwyran???

Close enough - it is looking from Horseshoe Pass towards the Eglwyseg cliffs, north of Llangollen on the way to Ruthin.

Over to you!

Oh dear - that was obviously very easy

Yes, Moelwyn the Mawr viewed from Moelwyn the Bach.

Your turn.

it wasn't that easy - I had to ponder it a bit. I looked at the higher mountains in the distance and I thought the mottled snow patterns looked like the southern slopes of the Glyders (easy angled but lots of big rocks rather than just a snowy slope).

Then I realised that it reminded me of my very first hill walk - Cnicht back in 1978, when I noticed those same snow patterns. It clearly wasn't Cnicht, so it had to be the Moelwyns!

I've done a photo a bit like this before, but all my other recent photos are still on the SD card, so here's this one...
