Clue: it is in Lancashire, but some iconic Yorkshire characters went to school near here.

Another clue - I am on the lower slopes of a hill that has this view from its trig

The hill has got to to be Gragareth (the only combination of trig point, wall and Lancashire along that ridge), and the school at Cowan Bridge, but I'm less sure about the water feature - Ireby Fell Cavern?

Close enough! - the stream is called Ease Gill. This exact location is referred to by Wainwright as Cow Holes although that is not on the OS map I have. There is another, bigger ravine downstream, named on the map ( and by Wainwright) as Easegill Kirk. The pupils at Cowan Bridge were of course the four eldest Bronte sisters.

Over to you!

Indeed. Visiting the Northumberland Archives, actually, but they don't own the wheel!

God that's a tough one. Is it taken from Sheffield Pike, looking towards Helvellyn?
