Correct! Caberfeidh's moon or distress flare is in fact the late afternoon sun low in the sky. This was taken pre lock down last year. Little did we know.

Cheers rohan. I needed the clues for that one.

Loch Ness from Dores.
A recent pic, and you're based in Inverness... narrows it down nicely!

Ah, Dores, how I adore Dores... I used to camp along the beach, gathering firewood for the camp fire, having a wee dram as the sun set in the west, staining every hillside and promontory a slightly different shade of purple, violet and mauve... One stormy night in autumn with the wind causing big waves to crash on the beach, the sky was light by the moon in one part and a vast comet, the Halle-Bopp Comet, making a great silver smear in the other part of the sky. Weirdly innocent times compared to now. Of course maybe it was an omen...

Aye, it's a fine spot to camp after a night in the bar. Loch Ness is a place I have visited, drove, cycled or walked alongside many times, maybe more than a 1000 times. .
On my wednesday visit I also passed Loch Ashie which was frozen solid and folk had obviously been cycling and skating well out on to it.

I was going to put up that picture but thought it would be very difficult to guess

Frozen Loch Ashie 10th Feb 2021 🥶
Apparently Loch Ness never freezes and has more water in it than all the lakes of England and Wales put together.
I remember the Hale-Bopp comet well, not sure about an omen, but if the whole world goes into a meltdown over a dodgy virus I hate to think how we would cope with a comet hurtling towards the earth.
