Been around that part many times, it was just a matter of checking out the OS map.

OK, the loch here, leading towards the distant mountainsides.

Time for a clue, there’s a larger loch to the left of the one pictured.

Is it really a Loch or a Reservoir?
Between Firth of Forth and Firth Tay?

I can't help feel this should be obvious but I really can't place it.

Based on the clues Harperleas Res. in the Lomond Hills looks like a likely candidate but I can't make the angles work...

I agree it is a tough one - well done BoyVertiginous!

I wondered too about one of the Lomond Hills reservoirs - but although the Lomond Hills themselves are steep, the reservoirs as I recall are in a flatter area than that what we see in the photo.

Then I wondered if it was Loch Walton, with the Carron Valley reservoir being the body of water that would be out of sight to the left. I guess that would be between the Firths of Clyde and Forth! But I must admit I don't recognise it, from this angle.

After a bit more hunting on the map and a look at BoyVertiginous hill lists I'm going to suggest Black Loch fro Dumglow?
