Loch Calavie? That looks a bit like An Cruachan in the foreground from a similar angle to a
photo I have taken from Corrie Calavie.

Nope, a good guess but it would take Naismith 4 minutes to walk across the water from end to end on this loch, Loch Fannie would only take him 3 minutes.

You just wait until a really hard winter; you could skate across the Galloway Hills from the Solway to the Clyde.

Otherwise it is either the Second coming route or ,for us lesser mortals, a swim/kayak across. Just like Rannoch Moor.
