Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

The only thing that springs to mind is Dingwall, it being the former Norse 'capital' in Scotland.
But its not really an island. Different planet sometimes, but not island.

Not Dingwall, and don't deride it. Many times have I blessed its late night supermarket and filling station - a beacon of light afore the desolation of the far north.

Come on CF, you'll know this one. The Picts were there before the Norsemen and the god-botherers after. Since when it's been left to the birds.

Dragging on I fear, so another clue. The first word is a now obsolete spelling of the more commonly used Scottish word, but is pronounced the same and there are quite a few scattered around the Highlands in various states of repair.

I look down on her, because she stares at stolen cows,
I look up to her, because she has the shepherds eye.
But I, AD, have a beery cave. :D

Was thinking it might be Loch Borralie, reversed? Probably way off but there are iron age burials there.

There's Barpa Langais, which is one of the oldest buildings in the world, but I don't know what would be restful about it now!
