I've been there many times, besides you got Desparate Dan as I was contemplating whether I should just throw him in to get him out of the way. Talking of the letter "D", try this for size.

DD made the DS famous on D.

Ever the pedant, it's Douglas Fir, genus Piinaceae, spruce are genus Picea. (dons hard hat and retreats....)

Husband said it was a fir, but I still tried it, in case Rohan (like me) wasn't entirely sure....but I bet she knew it was a fir. Alas, can't reach you from here to throw rocks (or maybe only hats) at the pedant.
