Indeed it is - the current wooden version is the replacement for a stone one that sat in the same spot.

If you follow Glasgow Road to Gogar, you come to Gogar Church, now a mausoleum which dates from mediaeval times.

Is this the Golden Road around the east coast of Harris that leads to Rodel Church?

Don't worry about the time of this post. ......It is a lovely sunny afternoon and about 23C here in Melbourne!

Probably wrong, but try George Buchanan, appears as a statue among others on the Scott monument.

Not there Charles, but you're in the right city. This statue is photographed far more than George Buchanan's.
