A clue then: The location, M, is eponymous with and wholly surrounded by its environment.

Thrice round, thrice dunked and once supped, you'll be yourself again.

Afraid not, though I see where you're coming from.

The M of MW was though of royal blood, but was notable for another reason.

The location M is not the same as the M in MW, just to be clear. :D

Got to be Macbeth's witches? Or maybe not.

See answer to previous posit.
Nothing to do with the Scottish play, nor with The Hunting of The Snark(...what I tell you three times is true...), though it's quite possibly as bemusing as the bowsprit getting mixed with the rudder.

I'm new, forgive me, these have to be related to Scotland or Scottish history? My thoughts were turning to Mecca and Medina! Or meridians.

Morar is synonymous with its environment, but I don't know what the W would be.

They have to have a Scottish element, be that a place, a person or a thing and those may be real, fictional or mythical. They may also pre-date the formation of Scotland as a political entity.

Not Morar, though a like entity is the environment within which the singular M exists. Note the M of MW is not the same.

Rather Maelrhuba's Well on Maree Isle?

If insanity (or lunacy as it was known then) is your affliction then this is the place to come to be cured. Merely drinking the water from the well is not sufficient though – the afflicted should be bound, then thrown from a boat and towed round the island three times clockwise.

Correct, though my version has the afflicted one rowed around the island three times and submerged three times in the process. Apparently the well ran dry after someone attempted to cure their mad dog by having it drink from the well. St Maelrhuba was of royal Irish blood and founded a monastery at Applecross.

Your go.

Gah! What have I got myself into? I'll have a wee think and check the thread unless it's been done before...
