B is not a battleship but you are right in thinking of something very big (and often grey). TTs were inside several Bs of which BC is the most famous, but one of the two BVs is another well known one.

An extra clue which you may enjoy unravelling - unlike their namesake, TTs did not drink all the water in the taps. Some of them (for example at LK) did quite the opposite.

I think I need to be an engineer for this. I think the big grey things are barriers or dams, but I don't know where BC is. I suspect one of the T's is Tiger (after the tiger who came to tea) and there are pipes called Tigers in barriers, so maybe TT is a triple tiger. I give up. I suspect LK is Loch Katrine.

Tunnel Tigers were inside several Bens of which Ben Cruachan is the most famous, but one of the two Ben Vorlichs is another well known one. [that is, the tunnels through Ben Vorlich supplying the Loch Sloy hydro scheme]

I am very ashamed I didn't get it properly. I used to have a biography of Tom Johnston, the Secretary of State for Scotland immediately post WW2, and read about it there, and then of course I dipped into "The Hydro" when I got it for a customer. Lots of Polish ex servicemen turned their hands to that.

I think the Ben Cruachan Dam is the only major Highland industrialisation project my daughter studied in Highers that is still on the go.

"Our Noble Families" was an interesting book. It detailed how the the various families had come by their land originally. He made the basic case for abolishing the House of Lords, which we have taken on board to the extent of reducing the hereditary element.
