Smollett is I think on the Scott Monument? And his initials would be TGS (Tobias George).

But I don’t get the rest of the clue - I suspect it is not about Smollett, but about Scott’s novels, which I’m not familiar with.

Not Smollett and not related to Scott's novels.

Another clue. TGS subsequently became the first Scottish production of its nature. Its progenitor also,produced a renowned eponymous scion.

A wild guess, the first Scottish opera was I think The Gentle Shepherd?

But no idea about the other aspects of the clue I'm afraid

Correct, a great beauty of her day and at six feet tall must have cut an imposing figure. The Gentle Shepherd was a play written by the poet Allan Ramsey, later turned into the first Scottish opera. Allan Ransey is among those portrayed on the Scott Monument and was the father of Allan Ramsey the famed portrait painter.

I'll leave you to fight it out with Tim as to who goes next.

So here is one that confused me when I first visited Scotland - KB is unconnected with K

Kinloch-Bannoch is unconnected with Kinloch? No, I knew it wasn't.

Kingston Bridge?
Kincardine Bridge?
Kylesku Bridge?

I'd opt for Kincardine Bridge, which is nowhere near Kincardineshire.

When I first drove up to Scotland, I had a road atlas with Kincardineshire marked in it (it was a bit old I admit)

Then I saw lots of signs for Kincardine Bridge.

As you can imagine, I ended up driving the wrong way.
