I reserve the right to post more than one favourite later when I change my mind!
I'll start with one from my favourite part of the world, Inverpolly. There are dozens of amazing views here, but on our canoe crossing of the area last Easter, we found this little hill right in the middle, surrounded by those magical hills, a spot few walkers will get to. I'm already cheating by having two photos, just to try to demonstrate how good a spot this was!
Cul Mor, Cul Beag and Stac Pollaidh, from a small hill above Loch Sionasgaig near Clais.
Suilven, Cul Mor and Cul Beag from the same spot.
Those are good views. There's something special, by definition I suppose, in getting a unique or unusual view and/or making some unusual effort to get it.
I don't know if it's an age thing but it is a happy coincidence for me that I've started to appreciate this sort of landscape more and more; so not necessarily on one of those (in this case) iselbergs but with a view of them. Might just be that I don't like the scrambling so much these days and have adapted.
