The view from the little hill above the bothy at the head of Loch Glencoul is just stunning. I sat there for ages watching its changing moods.

Wow, wonderful images.

I only really discovered this view relatively recently, as normally I'm concentrating on the road at that point. I stopped at a layby a bit before the loch and grabbed some pictures, but didn't go to the loch itself. What a mistake that was!

Thanks Mal! There is a wee layby at the loch, but you do have to get right down to the water's edge to avoid having any tree branches in the shot. It's not very sheltered, so good reflection conditions are a bit of a rarity!

I can't resist asking this any longer - do you actually just have a rubbish camera, or do you put all your photos through a special digital filter to make them look like 1970s Polaroids?

They ARE 1970s Polaroids I suspect ;) (or digitalised slides?)

One of my real favourites is the view of the three magnificent hills as you come over the rise into Coire Lair. The walk up is delightful, across pink hued rocks beneath fragrant pines, and then suddenly you come out and are left just starting up at Fuar Tholl, Sgorr Ruadh and Beinn Liath Mhor.

Lunch with a view, last summer. (More or less on the border between Harris and Lewis.)

Do we need a new thread for food with a view? :D

And a couple just for favourite views - a) North Uist and b) Harris from the beach near the Berneray hostel.

I've also been inspired by Caberfeidhs 1970s polaroid of the fish, chips & pickled onion. :D

A few of my favourites:

1 From Stob Coire nan Lochan - how many hills can you name? 12/9/09
Image

2 Looking back on the Aonach Eagach ridge from Sgorr nam Fiannaidh after a great day. 29/7/11

Image

3 Looking down on Binnean Beag from Binnean Mor. 20/6/09
Image

4 A local view of the Pentlands. I never tire of the view along the main ridge. Looking from West Kip over East Kip to Scald Law and Carnethy Hill.
Image

5 Any view of Loch Skeen is good but my favourite is from Watch Knowe, here are 2 views from slightly different positions:

6 Finally a view of the Galloway Hills, I was at Carlin's Cairn (Rhinns of Kells) looking over Mullwharcher (Dungeon Hills) to Merrick and Kirriereoch Hill (Range of the Awful Hand). With lovely Loch Enoch on the left. 23/8/14 Hillwalking heaven!

Ah, Galloway! I used to hike the hills and glens of Galloway in me Yoof, fishing and camping, swimming in Loch Enoch and finding bits of plane wreckage; you could be out all day and never meet another soul. Here is a crap picture taken with a crap camera in the 1980s on Dungeon Hill. Syd Snook with some plane wreckage.
