JM used the AP to let EG resound.

VVE being the outcome.

Might it be:
James MacMillan used the Amsterdam Philharmonic to let Evelyn Glennie resound, Veni, Veni, Emmanuel being the outcome (though I've never heard it...)

You've got most of it right, but AP was the Advent plainchant, Veni Veni Emmanuel, on which JM based his composition. The premiere was given at The Albert Hall by Evelyn Glennie and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Jukka-Pekka Saraste. It is the most performed modern concerto.
Your go.

Thanks Charles, I just listened to VVE on Youtube and indeed I recognize that piece of music, very beautiful it is, too.

IRC is to IMAT, as IAS is to IMA. Two of these letters relate to a Scot although there is something wrong with the attribution.

These, together with ISC, are collectively JFI, once the home of a Fifer

I think we are talking Alexander Selkirk and Robinson Crusoe . Alexander Selkirk (from lower Largo) was stranded on the Juan Fernadez Islands (off Chile) for 4 years. In the group are Robinson Crusoe Island aka Isla Más a Tierra, and Alejandro Selkirk island. aka Isla Más Afuera,.

Correct.
Also in the Juan Fernandez Islands is Isla Santa Clara
The 'wrong' attribution arises from the fact that Selkirk seems to have been stranded on Mas a Tierra, but nevertheless it was Mas Afuera that was renamed (in 1966) Isla Alejandro Selkirk
Over to you...

Fact or fiction nevertheless B.A.D. was bad by name and bad by nature.

B A D's partner has twice been the subject of C I H A P P B (1st and 2nd edition) or rather their joint abode has featured, named after B A D 's partner. Sgurr set the first one, solved by Charles and Sgurr solved the 2nd one 4 years later

NB I have to apologise for the random of full stops in my initial post. Not sure why I do this, but I think I remember being guilty of this once before.

Is it 'Black' Agnes Douglas, partner of Sawney Bean?

Apologies for the lack of puzzles, I'm coming up blank. I'll continue to wrack my brains but If anyone wants to step in in the meantime, be my guest.

here's a quick one to fill in the gap.

If you travel from A to B to C, you might expect to pay the ferryman at S, but in fact the ferry was a little further on.

By the way, if you take this journey, at A you have an invitation to go. B looks fortified for defence but in fact welcomes visitors, and owns C which is much older. S appears to owe its name to rhyme rather than myth, although there is speculation that it has a Gaelic origin.

If you are going from Arran to Bute, and then to Colintrave, you might expect a ferry at Sannox, but it is a little further on at Lochranza. I am ignoring all the second clues as I can't make them fit in
