Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Ingenious idea! - but go further north and east.

At A, you are repeatedly asked to go. Which is fair enough- there are lots of nice things to see.

And by the way, the expected ferryman (who you will not in fact find) is known to only accept cash.

Return tickets are very rare.

Extra clue: since the invitation I mentioned above was written, A has also acquired newfangled indoor attractions, for cinema buffs and bibliophiles…

Robert Burns repeatedly asked " Will you go, lassie go" ...to the Birks of Aberfeldy but as to the "C" and the ferry I haven't a clue.

I am wondering if it is connected to Chadron and Hades, Chadron being the ferryman and S being the River Styx payment being the custon of placing a coin in the mouth of the dead as payment for the one way ride. But I don't see how this relates to Aberdeldy!

Except there is a stonecircle at Croftmoraig (Aberfeldy) and a place called Styx just by it

I thought so. A =Aberfeldy B =the Birks and C =Croftmoraig. Or not as the case maybe.

Just seen the above thread - of course that is the solution.

Styx was originally a brick works “Stix Bricks”, but there is speculation that the word is not a rhyme, but from the Gaelic stuicnean, a place of uprooted trees (apparently).

The real ferry was of course further on, linking the two ends of Loch Tay.

The solution looks very much a team effort, so I think it must be a case of someone volunteering to set the next one.

I vote for Sgurr as she led the way with Aberfeldy.

I led the way blindfold. It was you that found the Styx. I can't think how Tim thought it was easy.

Pending. I'll think of something that isn't Blind Harry whom we have had already. Meanwhile if anyone else wants a go, feel free.

It's always easy when you know the answer. I ended up googling Burns plus Charon, Hades and Styx, ditto with Aberfeldy which didn't go straightforwardly but did lead to Croftmoraig then Styx
