Cross Borders Drove Road

Cross Borders Drove Road

I have just completed most of the Cross Borders Drove Road. It goes from Harperig Reservoir to Hawick but we cut short to Selkirk. We did 73km over 3 days. I am surprised it is not listed on walk highlands as a long distance route.

When originally devised this was a network of routes rather than a single line and so wasn't suitable in itself. However it does now look like it's been defined as a single route. Much of it is on Walkhighlands as part of other routes - for example, the section north of Peebles seems the same as the Scottish National Trail, other parts follow other routes.

We may look at putting together the blanks over the next year or so; for Walkhighlands this always means going and fully researching and walking the route on the ground so is quite time-consuming; we've very rarely had any local business support in that region and so are completely reliant on donations.
