Access to Route Maps

Access to Route Maps

Postby ismackay » Wed May 09, 2018 7:31 am

Access to maps not available on IE from 8 May, but I can get them on Firefox.
Is there a problem with IE?

Hi there, I've tested and IE does seem to be working fine. Maybe try refreshing the page, or clearing your cache - that should make them appear.

Update: there does appear to be some strange issue on Internet Explorer that we are investigating.

Unfortunately whenever you turn on debug mode in the browser, the maps load fine with no errors, which is making it trickier to work out the issue.

Just pressing 'refresh' fixes it for me.

Try a few more maps now and let me know if they all display (in IE)

Checked again, and althogh maps are shown, the route is not. Is there still a problem with IE?

I can't replicate this.

Can you let us know what version of IE you are using?

Argh, much of Walkhighlands won't work on IE7, including the navigation menus etc. I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to support the browser as it doesn't allow many of our features.

Thought so. I can use my work laptop which has IE11 and this does show the routes.
Thanks for your advice

Same problem. Maps are covered with blocks of messages saying that the OS maps are being stolen from Walk Highlands so I can’t see them. Nothing I’ve done has managed to clear them. Very annoying!

That's a different problem - the earlier user was using an out of date browser where the maps appear and not the route line.

If you get that message, it means the tiles are not being requested via the Walkhighlands website. If you are looking at them on Walkhighlands, it most likely means you have some sort of browser plugin - possibly related to privacy - to hide how you are browsing the site, which then would trigger tile message as you are no longer recognisable as a Walkhighlands visitor. If you turn off this plugin you'll be able to see the maps.
