Glad you enjoyed the report.
I hope that your dog shows you more respect than Bear gives me. He is still climbing Munros and writing reports taking the p**s out of me.

Brilliant! I've been catching up on past walk reports and this one is a gem. Bear is owed another treat because I've upvoted with a 'like' so I hope that this is noticed. :)

Thanks Angus,

I have only just noticed this reply. I am sorry to say that Bear sadly died about 18 months ago.

https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91513&p=405638#p405638

He was a great companion and is sorely missed. He now resides in my garden in Laide overlooking An Teallach.

When we buried him I told our Grandson, James, that Bear could now look out over the hills forever. There was a pause as he thought about this and then he said "but he's dead, he can't see, and he is in a hole in the ground". Out of the mouth of babes.

I will continue to keep my promise and will still make a contribution to an animal rescue charity for each new 'like'.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Keith. As you can see from my profile data I've only recently joined this site (though I've been bagging Munros for decades), so I've got some catching up to do. I'm not a dog owner, so I forget that they have such a limited lifespan. Do you think you might get another dog? (With apologies if you've already answered this question elsewhere.) Great idea about the donation to a charity for each 'like'.

I rather envy you living so close to the mountains, as it's rather a long drive there from Kent(!) The Met Office station near Loch Glascarnoch used to have a webcam with a feed to their website that included a view of An Teallach, so when I was pining for the hills I could see a few-hours-old image of that splendid mountain.
