Around the top of the Manor Valley

With the travel restrictions lifted we enjoyed some new adventures in the Borders and D&G at the end of the Easter holidays.

On Monday, a long round of the 8 Donalds and Donald Tops at the head of the Manor Valley near Peebles. Beautiful warm sunshine all day. Including Greenside Law, Dollar Law, Black Law and the hardest to get to Deer Law (a Donald top which was well worth the extra effort as it had the best summit - a finger of rock cairn).

I too was blown away by Deer Law's cairn! A human construction do you think?

Was intrigued when I returned home but couldn't find any history on the cairn/finger of rock Ian. Does feel and look prehistoric (including the pock marked base stone) but don't know whether it has been in this site for centuries or moved (it's not marked on the OS map). The map records a cairn the other side of the fence on the summit but nothing where this beauty sits. Would love to know more!
