OK, OK I know that doing Meall Dearg from the north and Sgorr nam Fiannaidh from the west means that I have avoided the Aonach Eagach, but cut me some slack, I'm at least 3 times older than any of the other walkers we met today  . This was another hill chosen to help us ease back into hill fitness after lockdown and would be (for me) the final Glencoe Munro. As we collected our gear from the car and were about to head up I realised I'd forgotten to pack a waterproof jacket    , what such a thing has never been known, my day pack has so much stuff in it it's almost as heavy as my backpacking bag   . Still I did have waterproof trousers and a bothy bag which could double up as a cape and a weather forecast that said it would be dry until late evening - so let's go for it   .

We followed the route given in the WH descriptor, its very straight forward an made for a cracking day on the hills  .

First photo stop, looking back at Loch Leven once we gain some height
Image

First view of the awesome ridge ,,,

Roger was there too ...
Image

Second view of the awesome ridge and the clouds are clearing

Roger and a useful cairn at the bealach between Garbh Bheinn and Meall Dearg
Image

The cooperative frog
Image
I politely asked this frog to sit still while I took a photo, once I'd finished I said 'Thank You' and it hoped off - clearly a prince/ss in disguise

The navigational fencepost and the view west

The Ben and friends

Looking east towards Ben Alder and the Scottish watershed ...
Image

... and east south east to Schiehallion
Image

Final ascent of Meall Dearg
Image

Getting closer to the ridge ...
Image

,,, and looking to the east ...
Image

... west again ,,,
Image

... and on to Bidean nam Biam
Image

... and zoomed
Image

... another angle on the ridge
Image

And while I was taking photos what was Roger doing?
Image

Well I was looking north again ...
Image

Then getting a panorama east ...
Image

... then east south east
Image

... with a summit selfie to finish

A delightful hill with stunning views - a real boost to the post lockdown recovery of body and soul :D :D
