Walkhighlands

A fantastic way to spend 4 hours or so bagging a Corbett. We decided to take the easy way up and started our walk along the road through the golf course and by the Clunie water, this is a great way to warm up the legs after a long drive. The track that leads you up to the summit of Morrone is a wide well used one and the views to the rear are well photo worthy. On the way there are oppertunities to also glimpse some wildlife. At the 859 meter summit of Morrone there is plenty of spots to shelter amongst the radio tower buildings from any weather whilst you refuel for the tricky decent. The track down begins wide and loose but then shifts into a single file track very rough underfoot. The views of Balmoral and surrounding area below are breathtaking and inviting. Poles are highly advised to avoid a fall on the steep often loose and slippy surface, speed is not an option. The foot of Morrone is very pleasnat and leads you into Balmoral village past a beautiful view point for a spot of souviner hunting.
