New campervan trip No. 26 1st 2020
Warm with brisk WNW breeze.
Drove from Castle Point campsite to Sweetheart abbey car park. Part MTB part walk to Criffel.
Tried a path up the shoulder of the subsidiary hill Cairn Knockendoch through the wood. Very boggy and narrow. After some 30min I decided to abandon the option. Back to New Abbey and biked along the road to the car park at NX970634. Continued on bike up the track to NX966631. Left bike there and walked to the summit.
On the return biked on woodland track back to New Abbey. Difficult in places as the route became overgrown and very boggy.
Overnight in van at Sweetheart abbey.
