Bridge of Orchy 2

Set off at half five on a fine morning after taking a day off work having worked the weekend.
Arrived and parked up at Bridge of Orchy station and headed off up the hills at 1115. Straight under the underpass of the West Highland line, through a gate, turned left and then almost immediately turned right up the hill following the path to the left of the radio transmitter.
The path up is fairly rocky in places and quite boggy in others. The bealach between the two Munros though is reached easily and in good time. Decided to hit Beinn Dorain first and followed the good path south to reach the large cairn Sassenach and then continue for a while along the ridge before dropping down a short way then quickly reascend to the summit. Clag was in but caught fleeting glimpses of views across to the Crianlarich hills and down to the A82.
A bite to eat and a drink (most of which went to Skye my black lab) and set off to retrace the steps back to the bealach. From there headed north east along a decent path which further on hits a bog for a bit. Bog traversed it’s a fairly quick climb up to the cairn atop Beinn an Dothaidh. 3hrs to get to this point. Managed this time to get some decent views out over Rannoch Moor. Summit selfies done a quick trot back to the van and made it back down to the parking spot in 3hrs 57min, not that I was counting! A decent day out and seemed easy. Maybe that’s because my previous outings had been the eastern Mamores and the Cuillin ridge! Drive home was uneventful but made for a long day of 15hrs out.
