If this was supposed to be preparation for next week's walk of the Dales Way then it was a pretty pathetic attempt.

I set off from the car park just after 7am, misty and cool but at plus 7 it was an improvement on the -2 start last Sunday.

From the off I didn't seem to be in the mood for walking though it was nice watching the mist lift and the sun appear every now and then.

In the end I just went as far as the bridge a mile north of Loch Ordie before turning so 13 miles covered instead of the planned 21.

Hope things go better next week.
