Cody and I, parked up overnight on sunday @ Dalnaspindal A9, sneaky spot past cottage by railway bing.
0915 - 1115, 2hr walk into duinish bothy and set up base camp
1215 - 1500, 2.75hr BM substantial summit cairn in drizzly clag, long walk along ridge but reasonable ATV then wee track on right edge almost to summit. Returned to bothy area for wee 15 min break then off to Graham.
1515-1715, At summit in scarcely believable 1hr, helps being 230m lower than earlier Corbett. Aimed for obvious large rock at foot slope then took grassy rib to near summit plateau.
Weather decent all time away, never had to wear waterproof, sunny spells, breeze. Lots Grouse about.
Fantastic evening in bothy once realised door was only stuck into main room, Cody now comfy chair rather than fire place.
Noodles/Curry/Cup a soup and flask coffee all brewed on stove, then welcome wee fire log and supplemented by some wood left behind. few hours by fireside enjoying cigar and Wallander book with dog snoozing on chair beside me.
Birthday bliss, off to bed 2130 when fuel ran out, tent cosy and surrounded by roaring stags.
Up at 7am in daylight for breakfast in bothy then leisurely return to the van for 11am.
Ballinluig motorgrill for lunch and home for 2pm.
Marianne/Arron arrive 5 mins after i pull up, lots birthday visitors, Steven/alistair, Mark and JC before head to Kushis for tea.
A birthday to remember.
