Quick straight up, straight down walk up Morrone from the duck pond yesterday, first trip out to the hills since Moss displayed symptoms of back pain and was diagnosed with spondylosis. For the last month she has been on treatment and careful management - including no hill walks and limiting running around. Fortunately she was still able to enjoy swimming in the river and trips to the beach! As we haven't seen symptoms figured we would try a shorty hill, and it was a hill Moss and Zena hadn't done before so would be a new tick to their lists. Starting at the duck pond removed any road walking and shortened the walk to around 4 miles. The route is signposted, once on the track up the hill it is a case of just following the track which is pretty eroded in places with one section of the path like walking up a burn. Higher up the ascent becomes much more gentle broadening out into a wide track heading straight towards the mast at the summit. From the summit we returned the same way. There was the option of adding the Birchwood trail onto the walk but decided not to chance overdoing it with Moss on this first trip back to the hills. She is happy and bouncy today so fingers crossed we can manage her spondylosis while still getting out to the hills!

Pleasant walking through autumn woods lower down...and a dog with her legs in her air!

Quick let's get down before we get caught in the rain (we didn't get down before being caught in the rain...)
