Ben Griam Mor from the road

I parked approx 500 meters east of the turn of for the Gavault Hotel in a parking place on the north side of the road and walked back 100 meters west to the track to Loch Coire nam Mang.

Follow the track north for approx 1.5km where there is a small wooden bridge over the ditch beside the track and head east up the obvious ridge to the summit

From the summit i headed directly towards Ben Griam Beg which was a bit steep in places it would be better to head slightly towards Loch Druim a Chiliabhain to miss some of the steeper sections.There is a small burn at about 240 meters that required a run and jump to cross and for a few hundred meters it is a bit boggy until you gain some height.

From the summit it was just a case of dropping down to the lochs and following them around until you regain the track south of the boat hut on Loch Coire nam Mang and follow it back to the road.

The white building is theGavault Hotel recently voted in the top 10 places in the world to get away from it all.

Good to see a report on these hills - I have them in my sights for some point in the not too distant future

Empty looking up that way. Also hoping to do Ben Armine at some point this year - siimilar sort of landscape I think.

I did Ben Armine last summer the terrain was very similar apart from the 10k cycle each way.I have thought about cycling in the same road and doing Ben Kilbreck once i get a softer seat for my bike.

Hi Les, thanks for posting the route for this. Did the two yesterday, lovely sunny day although was bit slower than you, I blame it on carting half the bog with me after falling in.

It was very boggy between them i went on my backside myself a few times i had a 30mph back wind i think thats why i made good time.I was looking over at them today from Ben Horn thats is another good shorter walk then to the trawler chip shop in Golspie for the best fish and chips in the north.

Id always wanted to do these since i saw them from Kilbreck a few years ago from the west they look like perfect triangles .There is plenty places to camp

These hills were prominent in the film
Hoping to go up to Sutherland/Caithness next month and now fancy going to these two hills
