I had big plans for this weekend, which fell through thanks to the restrictions in place at the time sadly. So after mopping up my tears at the thought of not getting past the 20 Munros bagged mark, we got our act together and thought we'd try something fairly local, which only 1 of the 3 of us had done before.

Thankfully the weather gods blessed us with yet another day of fantastic weather, however this time it was topped off by the fact there was absolutely no wind at all. And even better the midges stayed at home too! The sun was out, and whilst it didn't feel like the middle of summer, it certainly didn't feel like October either.

Started off from the car park, although with this view you can get a better idea of just how far up the hill the pipes go.

Loch Sloy Dam - Highland Hikers.jpg

After a short and straightforward walk Loch Sloy Dam comes into view before your eyes drift to the right and then straight up to the summit of Ben Vorlich towering above it. It seems rather imposing however the path was so well maintained that the walk wasn't as bad as initially expected.

The views were stunning and I believe we could see Ailsa Craig from the summit, which if I have measured correctly is just over 70 miles away (clip in the video so you can decide for yourself).
