ButterBridge route up Beinn Ime

It was a beautiful November morning when we set off at 7.30am for the car park at ButterBridge in Glenkinglas, on the A83. The car park was closed due to some road works so we headed on a little and parked the car at the start of the forestry track, (see the map at the bottom to see where we started the walk), well away from the gate. The walk started after clambering over a gate down the road a little way, and passing the old ruined house and followed the burn up the hill, keeping the burn to our left. It was quite boggy and the path indistinguishable in parts but up we went.
The sun appeared as came up onto Bealach a’Mhargaidh and the going was easier. Views were fabulous over to the Cobbler and Beinn Narnain. Instead of walking around to find the popular path up to the summit we just went up. It was steep but not difficult. The main path up was found along with the Saturday hoards of day trippers! Got to the summit no problem. :)
A few sandwiches eaten, photos taken time to head back down. To avoid the boggy route we took up we went on down to Glas Bhealach and headed down from there. It was still quite boggy with no real path but at least it was still in the sunshine which was pleasant. Just before we got back to the car we had to cross the burn. Not too easy but made it over safely but got wet feet! Back to the car for the best cup of tea ever! :D

Did one of you happen to have a red jacket on? We saw two walkers walking down Glen Kinglas while leaving Abyssinia this morning - thought that they were much earlier birds than us! A tough-looking route!

Not us, we didn’t go up towards Abyssinia. Started by the ruined house near the main road. 😀
