Didn't feel much like walking but thought I ought to do something with the fine weather.

Image
The pea soup I drove through looks so innocuous from a distance.

Lochan Deo.

Image
A fine morning sky to encourage me along the track.

Image
Target ahead.

Image
I find the forecast of windlessness off-putting but the cool morning temperature helps.

Image
I opted for the burnside path but staying on the track would have been easier. Still ok though, just a bit boggy in places.

The great bulk of Braeriach ahead.

Sgoran Dubh Mor looking grand.

Image
Not sure who these belong to but my guess is Sgor Gaoith.

Sgor Gaoith summit where I took our dog Bracken for her one and only Munro.

The admittedly not very exciting route up to Carn a' Phris-ghiubhais.

Image
The fine headwall of Coire Odhar.

Image
A reminder of the fog to the north.

Image
First glimpse of Loch Eanaich.

Image
Lurcher's Crag.

Image
Less impressive view than that further west.

Image
A long walk is an act of will. I think I see a long walk plan forming in my head.

Lurcher's Crag again.

Meall a' Bhuachaille.

A way to Braeriach.

Image
It is a pleasant walk along the short ridge.

I've wondered for 50 odd years what the view would be like from Carn Eilrig, now I know and it's exceptional.

Glad to be of service! No, not a bad view at all.

Some cracking pics there, from what is obviously a great viewpoint.

Brought back some memories too, mainly of the very long and slow ascent from Einich to Sgor Gaoith with a full 2 day pack!!

Thanks, it is indeed not a bad viewpoint. Didn't go with any great expectations so nice to get good and interesting views. Ascending from Einich to Sgor Gaoith does not look easy at all, never mind with a heavy pack. I recall going up Sgitheall's north ridge with too much to carry and often finding myself off balance but it was at least never steep enough to necessitate use of the hands and knees. Thankfully, I gave up carrying heavy loads years ago.
