Weather forecast for today was looking good however a look out the door at 5.15am cast a doubt as it was hammering down, but I desided to go along with MWIS report and set off towards A84 and the recognised parking place in layby at NN583137 (Ardchullarie More) and once booted and suited headed off up the track past the shed, across thre ford (NN585138) and up into the woods. As I started to assend up the track I started to feel a slight twinge from my calf muscle.....which I had somehow managed to pull on my last venture via Ben Vane, and thought the order for the day was either push on via regular stretching stops to see if it holds out or call it a day and head back home, whilst I'm not overly competative....I don't like being beaten so the latter wasn't really on...at least not at this point. Whilst I was on one of my many stretching stops I was joined on the track By Allister3, his son Steven and trusty companion Jet and we walked for a bit together (or rather in Steven's slipstream) before I suggested they crack on as I didn't want to hold them up.....Good to meet you guys. As we exited the woods onto the forestry track I came upon the following sign which made me chuckle. It was then through the gate and continued on track through ford at NN590150 to the sign directing the hill route to Beinn Each At around the 550m (NN597150) I could hear the bellowing of what I presumed to be a Stag and in the distance caught sight of something on top of a cragg in the distance, so with maximum zoom I homed in, but still couldn't quite make it out

Followed by shot of Beinn Each summit MWIS had pretty much tagged the weather...in the main SE summits were clear and would occasionally cloud over, then clear and so on.....From the summit of Beinn Each I basically followed the old rusting fence post line down into Bealach nan Cabar and Bealach Glas and as I closed in on Stuc a' Chroin there were two or three of the again predicted snow flurries. I dropped back off the summit in more or less same general direction until again down into Bealach Glas, where I desided I would drop off to the west and picked up the forestry track at NN593169 and a more level footed desent to the car......well actually it was a more level footed assent back to the direction sign for Beinn Each before starting the desent.....there were more fords along this track then Arnold Clark has in his showrooms....maybe a slight exageration....but there was a lot.

It's a nice walk to cover Stuc a'Chroin via Beinn Each rather than from the north and you do get some great views at the top. Good stuff.

I must admit it was tougher and more challenging than I was expecting, but I think it's the unexpected and the variation that makes the hills all the more interesting...you're right it is / was a nice walk.....up through the woods to start, a bit of track...some fords, craggs and bealachs...pretty much has it all really.

Good report and useful pictures (shows the terrain well - mine tend to be of the landscape variety which is not always very helpful) . Looking forward to this route in the near future.

good to see you made it to SaC,there was a lot of up`s and down`s en-route,we are going to climb Cruach Ardrain and Beinn Tulaichean tomorrow,tuesday..i`le search up you`re walk to there, as you leave good discriptive picture`s.

Your comments are much appreciated..........it is a descent walk with plenty of variation, and further variations to make it a little easier or a lot harder.....hope you enjoy it when you get round to it.

Are you on a mission or what....you'll soon be on a Munro a day. I almost snapped you going over the ridge towards Stuc just as the cloud covered the summit, but the time I got my camera out you were engulfed by the cloud and I never saw you again after that..............hope you enjoy BT & CA and I'll look out for your report.

Enjoyed this report and your pics. I have done Ben Vorlich so I intend to do Stuc from this direction and soon !! I will probably be solo for this one as my mates have done this, can I ask, is it straight forward enough ? I have seen other reports that talk of scrambles and climbing chimneys on this route.

Great post - thinking of doing these 2 on Thursday and this is just what I needed.
