Another wee hill that I'd overlooked for a while. Set off early (7.30) probably thinking that it being a Saturday the area would be busy. Thick for pursued us all the way along the road to Strathyre and I didn't hold out much hope for views - it was also substantially colder than of late - temp down to 3.5 degrees along the road. parked at a large camping area at the head of Loch Luibnaig and set off along a finger-posted track, crossing a sturdy wooden bridge then past the school and up onto the forest trail. We began to see sunshine through the trees as we climbed and in fact left the mist behind below us. A beautiful sunny day emerged - lord knows we could have been somewhere more deserving than this...although the hill itself was pretty and the views impressive.

After a bit the forest track becomes less distinct and a warning board indicates you have reached the edge of the way marked route...are you feeling up to going on? Well are you, punk? We did and found ourselves on a very steep section (we had taken the hill runners direct route rather than the WH route up An Sithean I think) but anyhow, with some heather grabbing, we managed to make to to the first summit. Good views north to Ben Vorlich and Stuc a'Chroin.

Over a fence, not using the broken stile which looks more likely to do you an injury than assist, then a boggy section to reach Beinn an t-Sithean. Stopped for lunch at the top, enjoying the sunshine, before returning to the car much the same way we'd come up.

A fine little hill that would make for a good summit camp.
