The walk we did today covers the last leg of the walk described in the WH route from the top of the hill to Dollar.
Parked at Castle Campbell car park and followed route up towards bank hill but rather than go up it followed track round it heading west along the front of Kings Seat. After a steep climb out of the glen it levels off for a bit till get to start of climb proper. A ruined gate in a fence marks the start. It can be seen in photo below.

Looking up King's Seat from the path. The scree was where we had our breaks out of the wind.

We stopped for 11ses here as it was out of the wind a bit. It was very windy and this made it cold too but the blue sky had been hard to resist.
Now it is straight up the slope to the top, passing the memorial to the pilots on the way.
Great views over the Devon to the Forth and beyond. The path is easy to follow and being close to town the route was busy with a steady stream of walkers going up and down.

Lomond Hills and Loch Leven from top.

At the top, the wind was pretty fierce so we didn't venture any further other than look over the other side at wind farms and then head back down the slope to where we stopped going up and had our lunch. Retraced our steps back to the car park. Only when we reached the castle did we get out of the wind. The sun was still there but it was getting cloudy.
Relieved to get back to car warmed up again.
