My first proper walk this year, I was not sure where I would end up but just set of on a we reconnoitre.
I parked on the A817 beside a mobile mast and the back entrance to Ballyvoulin Farm. Straight across the road through a gate and up a bit of a baggy in places field I mostly followed quad bike tracks going up past the small plantation and onto the shoulder of Auchengaich hill.

It was a lovely clear day and the summit of Beinn Chaorach looked inviting so I carried on, firstly to Beinn Tharsuinn with a small cairn.

The views were amazing to the west the Firth of Clyde Arran and Paddy’s milestone to the east the Campsie’s, Ben Lomond, and towards Crianlarich the hills were all decked in snow. After a quick coffee break it was a short drop and last pull up to Beinn Chaorach.

On the way back I skirted round Beinn Tharsuinn and back to the car accompanied by my rather dirty wee dog. Zach It was great to be on the hills again, I’ve promised myself to do a bit more exploring around Luss and Glen Fruin.
Lots of clear blue skies but not a single jet trail to be seen, this year has been a strange one, role on 2021,

Hi David, nice report. On a seperate note, for years I have tried to locate the elusive path from Auchengaich reservoir to Luss. It's marked as a walk but I can never find it. Daft question but does it still exist? Many thanks Dene
