Following a spell of lots of rain...was The Buck such a good idea given it has a bog factor of 4 and all reports talk about how boggy it was? That's where we went anyway! To be honest, it wasn't as bad as I expected given the recent weather. Yes, it was very boggy and the track remained wet until approaching the summit but we navigated through the bog without getting wet feet and followed the fence up to the top...and then followed it back down again. The dogs certainly enjoyed themselves, there was no sheep around so they could be off-lead leaving me free to navigate around the boggy bits while they could jump in it to their hearts content. There was no need to climb the gate either, it could be opened by lifting off the string. Looked like a fairly new gate so it has possibly been replaced recently. Afterwards we headed along to Tap o'Noth just a short distance away, another quick up down this only took us an hour and fifteen minutes.
