Beautiful day out, sharp frost and icy with clear blue skies and watery winter sun.
Knock Hill Parked at pull in, second turn after farm. Path is first right after the first stone barn - not very obvious. Path through trees and along fence line. Very icy under foot. Walked the path into the trees, need to look out for the fence where you turn left up the hill, we overshot this.
Quite a stiff pull up the hill, the path runs out and you have to go through heather. Weather so good we had our lunch at the top and enjoyed the view. We headed more or less straight back down but I would retrace the way up another time. It was quite hard work wading through the heather
Such a nice day we decided to go up Meikle Balloch as well. More people about there but a lovely walk none the less, temperature was dropping and very cold in the shade but lovely in the sunshine. Views were stunning and we could look back at Knock Hill. Across the moor and back down through the trees, really icy. Great day out with Moira
