Family walk straight from our accommodation at Whisky Trail Lodge in Granton-on-Spey. Big event house we rented for less than normal prices due to Covid Restrictions on one household maximum and a fault in their booking site the owners honoured getting the week for a weekend break price. Lovely place.

Followed along Speyside Way for a while then circled back via one of the paths. Did not walk as far as the old Spey bridge and back along the riverbank as per the WH route. Would try this way if back again.

Unsurprisingly no sign of the elusive capercaillie just a dead young fawn at the side of a track. Nice dry low level walk in the woods.
