Last in the parking bay again! What a summer for that, but this one was really surprisingly busy given lockdown. We knew we wouldn't have time for all three Munros and left our choice open until we had walked in and understood the route better. Set out with lovely views west across the river by the car park
- Setting out
Passed Ben Up and Ben Down (great names) above the lovely Lochan na h Earba
- Lochan na h Earba
where we stopped for lunch. Its a fairly longish walk in along good tracks to the bealach between Clachair and Geal Charn, where we decided to try and go for the two munros to the east. leaving Clachair for another day
We set off up Geal Charn and (sorry) this was a trudge, over a series of false summits towards its huge cairn, Nice views from the top, but so boring that Ellen gave up to wait for me coming back!
Time for Creagh Pitridh which looked steep/difficult, but was anything but! A really good and clear path wound its way up to the small rocky summit
- Climbing
where we were rewarded with supper views to the west (Mamores and stov ban)
- Looking west
and across to Creag Meagaidh
- North
A bit of a boggy trudge back down towards the path - on reflection it might have been better sticking to the high ground on the west ridge?
Then a longish walk out as it began to get colder and darker - arriving at the car as the sun set
- Sunset
