Always open to trying new routes, we plumped for these 2 Glen Spean Munros, but decided to ascend Beinn a'Chaorainn via the East ridge after reading Cairngorm Creepers' detailed account of a similar ascent. We parked at Roughburn Forest on a fine morning and followed the track through the Forest, which is currently getting felled.

We exited the forest above Allt na h-Uamha, with our intended ascent route in full view.

Fortunately, the route didn't look particularly difficult, and we headed across the moor, where the route up was easy enough to pick out. Ignoring the obvious at times, we made the climb a bit more fun and hands on than it might have been, and were soon alighting on the top, very close to the summit.

From here, we made a quick detour to the South Top, which turned out to be a good decision, as 3 Golden Eagles flew by us here  Unfortunately, my camera couldn't focus on them against the white sky, so I missed out on pics

We retraced our steps over the summit, and made for the North top, before the steep descent down to the bealach Tom Mor.

We sat for a while for refreshments, before heading straight up the body of Beinn Teallach. Eventually, we found a bit of a track, which we followed all the way to the summit.

Fortunately, the cloud that had moved in, stayed well above any summits, so the views all around were good, if a little hazy. We headed South off the summit, and then dropped in to the glen and took the boggy path alongside Allt a'Chaorainn which eventually meets up with the path we took earlier.

Had no problems fording the Allt, so we arrived nice and dry back at the car.
