This walk turned out to be a mistake and I really should have known better when I saw the smoke being pumped out from one of the nearby farms. However, when I got to the car park the way up looked clear so I set off for the top; only a short walk in any case.
Got to the top and starting getting an acrid smoke smell. Tried breathing through my nose but still felt a bit crap when I got back to the car and for a couple of days afterwards.

A good view of a snow-capped Knock Hill from the start of the walk.

Most of the smoke is sitting to the south.

Well the pics are great, even if the air wasn't!

Thanks! Smoke aside, it is a lovely spot.

Long Hill looks a great view point, I must investigate it the next time we're in the area (daughter lives not too far away :) ). Your video of walking through the woods is really Tolkien-llike, I felt as if I was walking with Ents - many thanks   .

It can be turned into a loop walk by either descending to the west and looking for a gate and track down to the Deveron or by heading east from the carpark a short way and climbing a fence or gate to get onto the same Deveron track. One barbed wire crossing on the hill.
